Workshop on Internally Displaced Persons and the UN Guiding Principles
The Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) invites you to participate in a half-day workshop on internally displaced persons (IDP), the UN Guiding Principles, and the global response on Saturday, January 28. The workshop will also focus on the particular case of displacement in Colombia and Afro-Colombians. Gimena Sanchez-Garzoli, WOLA senior associate, will lead the workshop. The Afro-Colombian lecture will be taught by Pedro Cortes of AFRODES USA. Mr. Cortes is also a PhD student of Political Science at Howard University. Discussion
This workshop is open to all who are interested in learning the basics of global displacement and the international response, the basics of the UN Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, and understanding this complex issue in Colombia.
