In 2007, WOLA and the Transnational Institute (TNI) started a series of Informal Drug Policy Dialogues. The purpose of the dialogues is to have an open-minded exchange of views on current dilemmas in international drug policy making and discuss strategies for promoting alternative drug policies that promise to be more humane and more effective. Government officials from the executive, legislative and judicial branches and drugpolicy experts are invited to discuss relevant issues. The meetings are guided by 'Chatham House Rules' to encourage a free exchange of thoughts and confidentiality.
